Getting Away With Murder in Cold Blood Canyon
Movie producer's next big hit turned out to be his
scream queen girlfriend---a SMASHING success.
May 9th, 2007- In a bizarre twist of fate that seems like something straight out of the movies, legendary B horror movie producer Bruce Steinhauser has received a full acquittal from first degree murder charges. He'd been arrested and charged with the killing of his B movie starlet and longtime girlfriend Stephanie Halstead. Steinhauser has fled his Coldwater Canyon home located in prestigious Beverly Hills and now resides in a not so prestigious dilapidated house on Laurel Canyon. He continues reveling his victory over the justice system while leaving locals apalled and longing for retribution.
Steinhauser and his attorney Barry Levinwitz, Esq., renowned lawyer to the criminal elite, have seemingly found a flaw in the justice system using manipulative skill to place just enough doubt in the jurors' minds to set him free. One of the jurors, who asked to remain anonymous, was quoted as saying "Without evidence of a murder weapon, no corpse to prove foul play, there is nothing we can prove, only the phone calls and suspicion from Stephanie's mother and the neighbors."
While Steinhauser's victory may seem spectacular, it's not without pitfall. Industry insiders report that he's made his last big Hollywood production and is now alienated from the movie making community. The experience has also been financially devastating and has forced Steinhauser's company to file for chapter 11 bankruptcy.
One of the neighbors reported that the propertys' new residents have been experiencing poltergeist hauntings believed to be the dead starlet's ghost. "While I haven't seen her with my own eyes, I can tell you some strange things are going on over there." One of the new residents, living there with her mother and stepfather, has claimed that objects have been mysteriously disappearing around the house, the dog has been barking for no apparent reason, and a woman resembling Halstead has been making random appearances in the house. The final outcome of Halstead's afterlife and Steinhauser's fate(neighbors consider him to be a killer at large) remain to be seen.
